🔴 Meat Sauce

 

1 lb (450 g) ground beef or beef & pork mix

 

1 small onion, finely chopped

 

3 garlic cloves, minced

 

1 can (28 oz / 800 g) crushed tomatoes

 

2 tbsp tomato paste

 

1 tsp dried oregano

 

1 tsp dried basil

 

Salt & black pepper to taste

 

1 tbsp olive oil

 

🧀 Cheese Filling

 

15 oz (425 g) ricotta cheese

 

1 egg

 

2 cups shredded mozzarella

 

½ cup grated Parmesan

 

2 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)

9–12 lasagna noodles (cooked if not oven-ready)

 

Extra mozzarella for topping

 

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Make the Meat Sauce

 

Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.

 

Cook onion until soft, then add garlic and ground meat.

 

Brown the meat thoroughly.

 

Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, herbs, salt, and pepper.

 

Simmer for 20–25 minutes until thick.

 

2️⃣ Prepare the Cheese Mixture

 

In a bowl, combine ricotta, egg, mozzarella, Parmesan, and parsley.

 

Mix until creamy and well blended.

 

3️⃣ Assemble the Lasagna

 

Spread a thin layer of sauce in a baking dish.

 

Add noodles → cheese mixture → meat sauce.

 

Repeat layers until ingredients are used.

 

Finish with sauce and extra mozzarella on top.

 

4️⃣ Bake

 

Cover with foil and bake at 375°F / 190°C for 25 minutes.

 

Remove foil and bake another 15–20 minutes until bubbly and golden.

 

Let rest 10 minutes before slicing.
