200–250g paneer (crumbled or grated)
1 tbsp oil or butter
1 small onion (finely chopped)
1 small tomato (finely chopped)
1–2 green chilies (finely chopped)
½ tsp ginger-garlic paste
¼ cup capsicum (optional, finely diced)
½ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp red chili powder
½–1 tsp garam masala
½ tsp cumin seeds
Salt to taste
Fresh coriander for garnish
1–2 tbsp milk or cream (optional for softness)
🍳 How to Make Paneer Bhurji (Step-by-Step)
1. Heat the pan
Warm oil or butter on medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
2. Add onions & chilies
Sauté the chopped onions and green chilies until the onions turn soft and light golden.
3. Add ginger-garlic
Mix in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for 15–20 seconds until fragrant.
4. Add tomatoes & spices
Add tomatoes, turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt.
Cook until the tomatoes soften and the masala releases oil.
5. Add capsicum (optional)
Cook for 1–2 minutes for a nice crunch.
6. Add paneer
Add the crumbled paneer and mix well.
Cook for 2–3 minutes on low heat.
7. Make it soft (optional)
Add 1–2 tbsp cream or milk and mix for a creamy texture.
8. Garnish
